I recently finished a baby quilt that I just love. I think it is so soothing and I am really drawn to the colors. I had been working on another quilt (back in April, 2012) that involved cutting off and discarding a triangle of fabric after making each block (I’m almost done with that quilt too, which I’ll show soon hopefully). So I was left with many, many pink triangles. I finished the top while still in Indy, and then this month finally turned it all into a quilt.
I added other triangles from some of my favorite fabrics like Jay McCarroll and Alexander Henry, put just put them together in a way I thought looked pleasing, no pattern or anything.
I stuck with greys, pinks, and aquas and then I straight line quilted on each side of the seams. If you look closely, many of my points did not align, but the overall look is fine so I dont really mind.
The back is a fun Alexander Henry print that I bought ages ago at JoAnn’s, plus a panel of grey. The quilt measures about 44″ x 42.” And I love the striped binding in that soft grey and cream.
I like how it turned out and may eventually put it up somewhere as a wall hanging, but for now it is also listed in my Etsy shop in case someone else loves it as much as I do!
