Hello! Long time no see! I have been settling in to and getting used to my new place. Lots of unpacking and organizing happening. I have finally got all my fabrics unpacked and 95% organized. My very, very last box is still housing my sewing machine. For some reason I havent unpacked it yet! I guess it is just hard starting to work in a new place, but I have lots of ideas, and I’ll get started soon.
I started National Quilting Day by waking up way too early and traveling a little ways south of Nashville to check out the “Music City Modern Quilt Guild.” Now, Indy’s guild will be hard to live up to, but it was nice to see what other people are working on and also to share a few of my pieces as well, and just get to thinking about future plans and projects. And learn about a few very interesting-sounding quilt shops around. Like the insane one that is apparently run by a hoarder and she has tons of fabric but it’s super messy. Intriguing…. Other sewing things I am doing to celebrate today are watching Project Runway, sewing (I hope!) and listening to some of the lectures from QuiltCon that have been posted online (here).
I’m not working tonight so I am going to get started on some projects for my house. I need potholders, some pillow covers, and to get back to work on my extremely large quilt for my bed that I’ve been working on for quite some time now. I’m at a stand still because I dont know what design to make the last 24″ of the quilt. Lots of thoughts, but nothing quite right yet.
I look like a bit of a weirdo because I am pointing with my foot. Or, maybe I was doing the Elaine Benes? (Photo courtesy of Lindsay.)

This quilt was even more stunning to see in person than it appears from the photo (and it looks pretty incredible in the photo). It was great to meet you!
Thanks so much! It was nice to meet some sewing peeps in town!
