Happy Mother’s Day to my great, lovely, smart, funny, generous, thoughtful mother! Thanks for being my mom. Wouldn’t want anyone but you! Love you! PS Did you see the google homepage today. It was so cute!
I’ll be back to blogging more this week. Hope everyone has a nice day with their moms. I’m off to serve a bunch of other people’s mothers seasonally fresh lunches. Ciao!

Welcome to a new month. I love new months! I’m starting May with a brand new coffee mug I spotted downtown while I was on my way to the quilt guild meeting, so I couldn’t pass it up. I’ve also been in a mood the past week or so to PURGE! My things that is, not my food. I am planning on having a garage sale in 2 weeks to make some extra money and lighten my load. Plus I still have all of Aunt Kiki’s stuff so I’m gonna make some moola off of that too. It’s good that we live on the corner of a really busy street so I won’t have to advertise or anything. Although I don’t really have any tables to put my stuff on, so maybe someone I work with can loan me some.
This month is going to be really busy. I’ve got 3 classes worth of final papers and late papers and past assignments to grade and turn in, then I have 2 quilt orders to make (yay!), gotta pick up more shifts at work, have to pack and clean my entire house (uhg), garage sale, Vegas (woohoo!), find a new place to live (scary), and lots of other stuff! I should probably start working out again too. At least it’s finally getting warm again!
I also have a goal to not buy any more new clothes or fabric. I will only buy something if I see something cool when I’m in Vegas. I spent waaaay too much money last month on clothes and fabric, so I have plenty of fabric to keep me busy with all the quilts and things I want to make.
So anyways, that’s my plan. And then summer is out there looming, unseeable, but exciting. Just really hope I find a cheap sunny place to live for the summer. Soon! Wish me luck.
Took some new photos for Etsy today. I’m just working on having some better picture of my quilts. But then the yard guys came, so I scurried back inside.

Better?
I also got some of my new clutches photographed. I really like the fold-over flap, I think it makes them a little fancier since you can’t see the zipper. This one is my favorite:
But I also made orange with grey silk lining, yellow with turquoise, turquoise with yellow, and sparkly linen (also a fave).
And I finished sewing the scrap triangles together and I love how it turned out. I even found a scrap of batting that was the right size, and all the fabric for the backing is from fabrics I already have (haven’t made it yet. or trimmed it, obviously). This quilt makes me really happy for some reason.

I finished the top of the pink and yellow spiderweb quilt I’ve been working on allllll month, but I am going to save it until I’ve quilted it and taken pics of it in the sunlight. Unlike this badboy, taken with my phone, at night. I have all these pink triangles left over from the other quilt. You use them as a guide to place the fabric strips over but then you cut them off. I probably have enough to make 3 baby quilts like this, or one big one, but I think I’ll just stick to this small one for now. I like it. It’s very soothing and calming.
Coral used to be reserved only for the color of grandma’s lipstick! But it has made a comeback (I think!) I found this awesome nail polish at Target last night– it’s called Ole Caliente. I also bought coral skinny jeans over the weekend, and a coral notebook (actually it is a Pantone notebook in “Tangerine Tango” but very similar).

What coral fashions are you enjoying this spring?? There are lots to chose from!

Encountered these on my run today and stopped to enjoy them. There’s nothing like a lilac in bloom.

Well, it doesn’t look like much, so I didnt take a picture, but I whipped up a new easy dinner just now. Make pasta. In another pan sautee garlic, red pepper flakes, and approximately 2 tbsp of dried herbs (I used basil, thyme, oregano). Once the garlic is soft add sliced up brussel sprouts. Cook until soft and then add lemon juice and lemon zest. Mix brussel sprout mixture with pasta, and top with cheese! Parmesean is good, so is gouda.
Enjoy! Off to work now, and I reallly hope I made more money than I did at lunch. $8 and hour is pretty demoralizing at this point….

I don’t know what these little guys are but they are cute and they are sprouting out of our yard. It’s been kinda weird to leave the house at ten in the morning and there’s not a bit of chill in the air, but I am not complaining! Even ran outside a few times, which I loooove doing, but only when it’s warm.
Going to try to go downtown this weekend, check out the green canal, since we didnt end up going last weekend. But this time of year basketball seems to come before all else, so we’ll see.
Hope its warm where you are!
